Итак, по просьбе Лены Святовой, выкладываю ответ доктора Басси, которым он прислал ей, когда она задала вопрос касательно всей этой истории. Привожу ее перевод, а ниже оригинал. {Елена написала мне сама, поскольку на одном из форумов был мой e-mail. Для всех интересующихся: зовут меня Люба, живу в Одессе. Каждый день по несколько раз общаюсь с Женей и помогаю ему морально.}

Dear Doctor Bassi,
Thank you so much for your response!
1.So does the cost of $25 000 that she was quoted include the cost of the brain surgery? This is very important for us to know.
2. Do you actually plan to operate on her tumor (remove it) during the 5 day stay in UK ?
3.Can you tell if her tumor is operable based on the records you saw?
4. What are the girl's chances of survival based on her records from Ukraine ? (we realize they might not be accurate and more tests are needed).
5. What hospital is she going to be staying at?
We received letters from HCA International Center Manager (see attached) that is too general for us to understand.
We understand how busy you are but many people are looking for answers before donating money for her treatment and there is lots of misunderstanding.
Thank you again.

I will assess her and make a plan for treatment. This may include
biopsy/resection. I would expect most patients to leave hopsital in 5 or so days
after surgery and sometimes sooner for a biopsy. All our patients are followed
up by the oncologist from Royal Marsden and treatment in trems of chemotherapy
depend on the histology/level of residual.
The ball park figure of ?25000 is common as a starting figure. The consulation
would be ?250. if nothing can be offered then there is no more cost. if she has
a resection or a biopsy the cost is around ?15000 for the operation including
stay and fees. if she needs chemotherapy/radiotheray then the costs are
dependant on what drugs are
used

Ukraine Patient Nastia Pechegina
Dear Dr. Bassi,
My name is Elena Svyatova-Wright, and I am writing from
United States .
I am writing regarding Nastia Pechegina, I believe you agreed to treat that
little girl that needs an emergency treatment.
Unfortunately many people that are planning to donate money for her treatment
in
UK are very suspicious about the letter provided by your clinic about the
treatment plan, which delays her fundraising process tremendousely.
The letter states that Nastia would spend only 5 (!) days at your clinic, and
the cost is 25,000 British Pounds.
It is not clear whether she would be getting a surgery done or just a
palliative chemotherapy. Her father says she would be getting a surgery done on
her brain, but everyone thinks that only 5
days hospital stay is not sufficient.
It would really speed things up if you could clarify if you would be performing
any surgery, if she would be getting any chemo done and what protocols would
possibly be administered. I understand that without seeing the patient its hard
to give a clear treatment plan and assess her chances of survival, but could you
give us as much info as possible based on the medical records you received.
Thank you again for your time!
Sincerely,
Elena Svyatova
