Не совсем США, но зато крайне симптоматично (с подачи Alexsword'а)

Второй по величине тур-оператор Канады - Conquest, работавший на этом рынке 37 лет, без предупреждения - так сказать, без объявления войны... закрылся. В один день. В среду компания разместила на своем сайте объявление (http://www.conquestvacations.com/) о прекращении дятельности. Прекращение деятельности вступает в силу немедленно.

До этого компания не подавала никаких сигналов о своих финансовых затруднениях.

Сотни из 1600 уже отдыхающих (т.е. уже оплативших туры) находятся в затруднительном положении - гостиницы требуют с них плату. (т.е туристы второй раз должны платить за гостиницу) Вновь прибывших не вселяли, если те не платили. Те кто уже успел вселиться... в Мексике даже грозят, что полиция будет ждать незаплативших в аэропорту.

В принципе ситуация-то знакомая: только вчера без проблем затаривались в магазине, а сегодня приходим - дверь на замке, "помещение сдается". Вот только речь-то идет о крупном и с виду до сих пор процветавшем бизнесе

Что характерно, сайт продолжает фунциклировать и при прямом обращении к внутренним страницам, выданным гуглей, успешно выдает информацию "мирного времени"
